Stephen Robertson
Responsible Individual
Stephens’ career in social care began as a Support Worker in a residential home, where he quickly progressed to Senior Support Worker, gaining valuable skills and responsibilities. His dedication and expertise led him to serve as a Deputy Manager across two companies, working closely with Registered Managers to deepen his understanding of home operations.
As a Registered Manager, Steven successfully led his first home to a “GOOD” Ofsted rating during the initial inspection. He later took on the challenge of opening a new home, overseeing recruitment, referrals, and setup while ensuring high standards of care were maintained.
Following this, Stephen worked as a consultant, supporting struggling homes by mentoring teams, implementing effective systems, and improving overall care quality. His impact in this role earned him the prestigious “Manager of the Year” award at the 2021 Children and Young People’s Awards. Later, as a Regional Manager, he oversaw four homes before returning to a managerial role to focus on delivering direct outcomes for young people.
Throughout his career, Stephen has remained committed to supporting young people in achieving independence, rebuilding family relationships, reducing risks, and ensuring their safety. He holds NVQ Level 3 and Level 5 Leadership and Management qualifications, along with specialised training in PACE, trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and more.
His experience across all levels of care allows him to lead with empathy, empower teams, and create environments where vulnerable young people can truly thrive.
